Jogannapalem Chapel/Primary School

One of the more pressing needs is in the village of Jogannapalem where a primary school is greatly needed to properly educate the children in this and nearby villages. At present the chapel is being used during the day as a makeshift school for the children.

This as you may imagine is not ideal for the proper education of the children. There is no library, no toilet facilities, no desks and very few teaching aids that can be utilized to ensure the children receive the best possible education they can receive.

The existing chapel that is being used as the space to educate the children is in great disrepair and is truly insufficient for the number of children the school serves. In addition, the space available to be used for a chapel and school is very limited.
As a result of this situation, funds are needed in order to construct a multi-use chapel/school to address the needs of the village. The proposed plan is for the construction of a two level structure. One level will serve as the much needed primary school and the top level will serve as the chapel for the village and community. The following photos show the existing chapel and nearby land that will be used for this building.

The estimated cost of this multiuse building is as follows:

Construction materials, i.e. metal, cement, gravel, electrical connections, sanitary connections, and labor US$15,500
Provision of furnishings for the chapel, school including desks, tables, shelving units, books, and teaching aids including resource materials US$2,700
